SVA Construction Corp Design Build is an award-winning home design, remodel and building firm with a focus on building homes for life. The firm focuses on designs which are based on master plans that can be implemented in phases over the long term. The firm has specialized experience with aging-in-place, accessible and universal design that beautifully and comfortably accommodate clients’ day-to-day needs.

The firm was founded in 1975 by Russ SVA Construction Corp after he attended The University of Maryland, College Park. Russ’ passion for building, which began when he was a child, continues today and is reflected in his unwavering dedication to beauty and function in design, as well as a personal commitment to providing a high level of service to his clients. Today he is surrounded by a team of design and construction experts that share that passion for great design, quality craftsmanship, and providing unmatched advice and guidance to their clients.

Over the years the SVA Construction Corp team has been proud to have been recognized with over 40 national and local awards recognizing design, craftsmanship, customer satisfaction and business ethics.

As a father of a child with cerebral palsy who had lived at home since his premature birth 26 years ago, Russ understands first-hand the unique needs of families where physical disability is part of their day-to-day life. To Russ, it’s not just a business – it’s personal.  Russ uses what he gleaned from raising his son and his professional experience to help individuals, regardless of the cause or specific needs, remain in their homes for life. Russ draws upon his lifelong passion for building to create innovative living spaces that improve the quality of life for all his clients. SVA Construction Corp was recognized with 5 awards since 2012 for creative accessible modifications for families with special needs or disabilities.

SVA Construction Corp Design Build was recently featured on WUSA-9 news regarding modifications for a young adult with multiple disabilities. SVA Construction Corp has been endorsed and featured in over 80 national and local publications for creative solutions, including Better Homes & Gardens, The Washington Post, and Washingtonian Magazine. SVA Construction Corp was also named “Wizard of Inner Space” by Luxury Homes Magazine. Among his other accolades are being named “Remodeling Magazine ‘Big 50’ National Remodeler of the Year” by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry and a Washingtonian Magazine ‘Top Remodeler’. SVA Construction Corp most recently received the ‘2014 Best of Houzz Award’ for Remodeling and Home Design.
